FAQ
DOES A CERAMIC COATING PROTECT PAINT LIKE PPF? - No. Ceramic coatings provide exceptional protection from the elements, like sun/UV, industrial fallout, contamination, etc. They also add an amazing gloss to the paint surface, and make cleaning easier and faster.
CAN A CERAMIC COATING BE POLISHED? - Yes, but very lightly. Using too aggressive of a compound/polish and pad can remove the coating.
HOW LONG DO CERAMIC COATINGS LAST? - On average, a ceramic coating will last 2-3 years. This depends on how the coating is cared for and maintained. There are coatings on the market claiming 5-10 years, but research and experience has shown this to be false.
HOW LONG DOES A LEATHER REPAIR LAST? - The repairs will last as long as it took to originally damage or wear out the leather.
CAN YOU CHANGE THE COLOR OF LEATHER? - Yes. We can match and apply any color.
WHAT LEATHER DAMAGE CAN BE REPAIRED? - Scratches, tears, cracks, burns, deformation, dry/brittle leather, and discoloration all can be repaired. Torn seams need to be addressed by an upholsterer.
HOW DO YOU REMOVE WATER SPOTS? - There are many products on the market that claim to remove water spots. However, this depends on how long the water spots have been present on the paint or glass surface. If they are caught quickly, sometimes they can be removed with special chemicals. The majority of the time they must be polished off.
HOW DO I PROTECT MY INTERIOR FROM HEAT AND SUN? - Step one is using interior products with UV protection. Step two is using a sunshade in the windshield. Step three is having a ceramic UV-resistant film installed on all the glass. Most people know this as tint, but there are clear options as well.
CAN YOU POLISH PPF? - Yes, but with some important considerations. Too much heat created by a polisher and pad can damage the adhesive and lead to premature failing of the film. Also, PPF comes with a UV protection on the surface, so polishing can or will remove this protection requiring application of an aftermarket coating. When polishing PPF, a slow machine speed, light polish, and light pad are recommended.
CAN ROCK CHIPS BE REPAIRED? - Yes when the surface is flat. If the chip is on a corner, edge, or tight radius bend, the risk of burning through the surrounding paint is too great. However, on a flat surface the touch up paint can be applied, and once cured can be sanded and polished to 90-100%.
